Even though it's officially spring today, we still have almost 60 days until the Midwest is frost-free. (Although the way this year is going, we may already be there.) Pretty soon it'll be time to start planting flowers and veggies.

When it comes to garden parties and housewarming gifts, we're suckers for seed packets with beautiful artwork.

A few of our favorites, are from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds--the retro look is so much fun.
For a more stylized look, check out the Hudson Valley Heirloom Seeds from Kaufman Mercantile.

Any of these would look great in a glassine envelope with a garden party invitation, or tucked into a small flowerpot as a party favor. Know someone who loves to garden? Put three or four in a shadow box for a one-of-a-kind gift.

A friend of ours keeps bees. For us, it means an opportunity to purchase fresh, in-season honey. For our friend, it's a hobby that she enjoys sharing with others, and teaching her young daughter all about.

And while beekeeping does take patience and a thorough knowledge of the subject to be successful, it's a wonderful hobby for someone looking to branch out from the traditional outdoor activity.

Know someone looking to start their own hive? Here are a few gift ideas for those adventurous souls.

An all-in-one beginner's kit like this is a great way to get started.

The right attire underneath your beekeeping suit is a must.
Okay, so you're not ready to give your friend their own hive. Maybe just start with a small reminder that they're Queen Bee with this fun print from Bellamuse.

Do you know any beekeepers? What are some of their favorite gifts?
